WP Plugin Review: Dragon’s Den Software’s WP Content Lockdown
Ryan Powell of Dragon’s Den Software and his team have recently launched the plugin WP Content Lockdown. It went live this Friday, the 21st of June 2013, at 10:00 AM EDT, at a reasonable price of $27.
This plugin aims to stop the theft of your content so as to address the content piracy that’s prevalent in the online world today, particularly the ones sanctioned by “blackhat” websites. It does not merely aim to stop the download of your content but it preemptively prevents piracy by making every link to your content on blackhat sites redirect somewhere else instead of your downloadable file.
Sounds great, but does it really do its job? We’re happy to tell you that yes, it does – well at least it is until some clever hacker finds a way to bypass the plugin’s simple yet effective measures. To top it off, the WP Content Lockdown accomplishes its job through a simple dashboard interface that allows you to keep your site secure without getting yourself confused in a maze of options and commands.
The developers of this plugin genuinely hate piracy, and the plugin certainly is created with the idea of hitting back at the content thieves. We only hope that Dragon’s Den keeps on supporting this wonderful product though, as hackers and pirates are constantly learning and may eventually figure out how to get through the barriers set by the plugin.
As such, we recommend this product to everyone who happens to sell digital products online and those who run membership sites that offer exclusive content. Also, we’ll give this a rather generous 5 out of 5 stars.
